Sea6 Energy is a company working on the development of large-scale cultivation of seaweed using floating farms, and manufacturing of seaweed-based products for applications primarily in Agriculture, with the aim of further venturing into several other value-added products with applications in Animal Feed, Food Additives, and Renewable Plastics.

The company is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer who has the passion for innovation and has the commitment to apply his/her engineering skills to a variety of problems at hand. The person shall primarily be involved in providing engineering solutions for the problems faced in the field of large-scale seaweed cultivation.

Sea6 was founded in 2010 at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and comprises of a multidisciplinary and highly talented team of engineers and scientists. Key Responsibilities:

• Take lead in engineering responsibilities for overseeing manufacturing, testing and
• installation of equipment to fulfil requirements.
• Inspecting equipment and conducting routine maintenance.
• Traveling to site locations for equipment installation and maintenance.
• Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
• Procuring any materials and equipment required.
• Adhering to all safety and performance protocols.
• Provide technical support and training on new equipment to Coordinators and facilitators.
• Good to have- Develop detailed designs and drawings using CAD technology.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in mechanical/automotive engineering or equivalent with 2/3
• years of experience.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Experience in installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical
• equipment. Electrical troubleshooting knowledge preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and system schematics
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office, CAD software
• Candidate must be fluent in English
• Willing to travel to remote locations for work
• Passion for Engineering
