Functions:

Responsible to provide direction on design and product development (Oilfield Equipment/OFE) including technical documents preparation. Develop and create OFE product engineering expertise in the home country/region. Provide leadership and responsible for the overall activities of engineering function in close collaboration with the Group Engineering Manager, Product Director, and Country Manager. Inform the management about major engineering decisions and issues. Implement programs to attain all relevant business related certifications. Provide technical consultation and support to other machine shop operations within the group. Provide technical leadership, training and coaching to engineering team. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• As engineering lead, update and review projects status, timing and issues
• Conceptual design input with hand stress analysis
• Design development of concepts and proposals
• As project lead and administration
• Design package oversite and preparation
• Provide detailed knowledge of company products, licensor products and oil and gas requirements
• Prepare engineering specifications for material, welding NDT, standard features and standard calculations
• Proactively design and provide specification input to position the company
• Review and sign off product drawings, design packages etc.
• Prepare, monitor and control engineering test activities
• Provide complete knowledge of the company quality and engineering specifications, standards and work instructions
• Develop design guidelines for product design
• Review draft sales orders for accuracy and correctness
• Check and/or approve drawings
• Review other operations drawings for correctness and regulatory adherence
• Approve NCR dispositions for quality and manufacturing issues
• Provide CPAR root cause and corrective action analysis as required
• Act as technical authority for OMS on products and services
• Ensure all produced engineering content is checked and approved
• Champion all activities in the engineering and technical function for continuous improvements
• Serve as a coach and mentor to the subordinates in engineering and technical function and take the leading role on technical skill building to improve efficiency and productivity for the overall success of company
• Design company products e.g. casing connector, wellhead and Christmas tree, mudline systems, valves, and any other new company initiated OFE products and develop product specifications. Detail design work on OMS owned product family expansions and lead design improvement efforts
• Handle major field complaints and advocate remedial measures.
• Participate in all major tenders involving engineering and technical solutions.
• Represent Engineering at Sales Contract reviews.
• Review Purchase Order for special items required by Work Order
• Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, quality assurance and sales
• Conduct and review engineering staff performance appraisals
• Initiate and lead special engineering project as and when required
• Comply with all applicable quality, health, safety, security and environmental regulations
• Perform other related duties as assigned or indicated by responsibilities

Qualification Requirements

Skill Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Management System API Q1 and/or ISO 9001:2015
• Extensive knowledge of products, services, oil and gas standards (API 5CT/7-1/6A/17D/6D product preferred)
• Operational experience in manufacturing setup is highly valued.
• Proficient in 3D/2D mechanical CAD software and Microsoft Office especially in MS Word, and Excel
• Proven leadership and analytical skill
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• “Hands-on” person with strong sense of commitment
• English (both written and spoken)

Education and Experience

• Will be based in Jakarta/Bogor
• Minimum Degree of Technic Machine/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in leading technical/engineering team.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil & gas industry (preferred)

Other Requirements:

• Willing to travel to other locations
